The famous red and black jacket worn by Michael Jackson in his music video for Thriller is expected to sell for £250,000 when it is auctioned later this month.Described as 'the most iconic piece of pop culture emphemera' to ever be auctioned, the jacket would be instantly recognisable to many people around the world.Bosses from Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills - where the item will be sold as part of a Music Icons auction - say it was also autographed by Jackson when he gave it to costume designers, Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush.A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” jacket will benefit The Shambala Preserve current home to Michael Jackson’s two Bengal tigers, “Thriller” and “Sabu”.

A spokesperson for Julien’s Auctions said: "The iconic jacket was worn by the great Michael Jackson during the filming of the epic video Thriller which went on to become the top grossing single and the highest selling album of all time makes its debut on the auction block.  

"The black and red style of the jacket became so identifiable with Jackson’s groundbreaking extended short film video for the single that he continued to use jackets of the same design when performing the song “Thriller” for the duration of his career."

Bos dari Julien's Auctions di Beverly Hills, mengatakan jaket itu juga ditandatangani oleh Jackson ketika ia memberikannya kepada desainer kostum, Dennis Tompkins dan Michael Bush.

Sebagian dari hasil penjualan jaket Michael Jackson's "Thriller" akan bermanfaat bagi kedua harimau bengal MJ "Thriller" dan "Shabu".

Model jaket hitam-merah yang menjadi pakaian khas ala MJ di music video 'Thriller' terus ia (MJ) gunakan tak hanya dalam MV tersebut, namun design yang sama juga terus ia guanakan ketika ia tampil untuk lagu 'Thriller' selama karirnya.
